Questions we always get
Closed toe shoes and comfortable clothing. It will be warm in the summer and chilly in the winter.
We have three sessions Monday through Friday. 10, 12, and 2. Each session is two hours long.
We do not have an age limit however, if you are under 18 we require someone over 21 to be with you. If you are bringing a student group we require a 5 to 1 ratio.
Yes, we have a section where young volunteers can work with the adults in their family.
No, just the desire to want to help. We will provide all the instructions you need.
It is not but, you will be standing or walking the entire time you are here. We do have some activities for those who can not stand that long.
We prefer that you didn't. Since we have the public and businesses and corporations signing up on different platforms we will schedule the right amount of activities based on who signed up.
We are located at 613 Easy in Garland. We have two entrances. the fist entrance is for our corporate offices. our second entrance is for volunteers and donation drop offs. Please park in the back and follow the volunteer signs to the entrance in the front. Please do not park in our neighbors parking lots. That is for their businesses customers.
We understand things happen. Orientation starts at the beginning of the shift which takes about 10/15 minutes. if you are going to be more than 45 minutes late you may want to consider rescheduling. If you need to cancel, just let us know by responding to the reminder email.
Yes, we are one of the few organizations that can handle large groups. Use the button on our volunteer website that says "Group Volunteer Request" and our volunteer coordinator will help you schedule and plan your visit.
We will not provide any documentation but we will sign any that you bring with you.
